Counting By 7's

Counting By 7's

By Holly Goldberg Sloan

This was actually the first book to make it onto my favorites list, and it is the best book in the world.
It's about a 6th grader named Willow. She is an orphan and a medical genious, who finds it comforting to count by 7's. And then tragedy strikes. When both her foster parents die in a car crash, she is left with only a few friends: Dell, her slightly overweight school counseler; a highschool girl and boy from Vietnam; Pattie, a Vietnamese nail salon owner; and Jairo Hernandez, a Mexican taxi driver who's never been to school.
The strange thing is, this book is not a tragedy. It is a happily ever after.

HAPPILY EVER AFTER

" For someone grieving, moving forward is the challenge. Because after extreme loss, you want to go back."
