This book is like a diary written by the main character, an Indian girl named Nisha. This book is set in the summer of 1947 in India, during "The Partition", when the Muslim and Hindu religions in India were forced to separate and live in different places.The book is about her traveling to a new town with her family. The cool thing is that she is writing this diary in a form of letters to her mother, who is dead. My favorite character is Kazi, the family's Muslim chef, who is forced away when the Partition starts.n I like him because he is so kind to Nisha. You should read this book very soon, like tomorrow.
